1969 Dodge Coronet R/T Hemi

In 1969, if you were partial to a larger Dodge vehicle, but still wanted a muscle car, you ordered yourself a Coronet R/T with the base 440 4-barrel engine and 375 HP. Dodge made some small, but noticeable changes and additions to the Coronet in 69, including a new grille, rectangular fender turn indicators, a new rear taillight panel and the now famous R/T “bumblebee” stripe wrapped around the trunk of the car.

If you wanted to be the talk of the neighborhood, you ordered the bad-boy Coronet R/T equipped with the legendary 426 Hemi engine with dual 4 barrel carbs, 425 HP and 490 lbs ft of torque. You could burn the tires off at will and rip off 0-60 times of 6.1 seconds and 14.5 second quarter mile passes in bone-stock form.

The car you see here is a genuine and highly optioned example one of those Elephant-powered Hemi Coronet R/Ts. Chrysler production records indicate that of the nearly 7,000 Coronet R/Ts built, only 107 people had the fortitude to order the Hemi-powered Coronet R/T, making it one of the rarest muscle cars ever made.

Date-code correct 426 Hemi (425 HP/490 lbs ft) with 727 Torque Flite auto trans on the floor and 3.55 geared HD axle w/Sure Grip. Very low 46,682 original miles. Highly desirable B5 Blue exterior finish with the black “Bumblebee” trunk striping over all original sheet metal and chrome deluxe wheels. Premium, dark blue, vinyl bucket seat interior. Optioned incredibly well with the rally dash with tach/clock, black vinyl top, full console, 10 watt, AM stereo radio with 8- track player, rear speakers and speaker control, very rare 6-way adjustable and tilt driver’s seat, upgraded roof rail and sill moldings and courtesy lighting.

From the broadcast sheet and the fender tag, this rare car decodes as follows:
